The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) acquired the South Germantown Recreational Park in the 1960's to serve as a recreational park for the upper Montgomery County area. South Germantown Recreational Park (SGRP) is a special place to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Its 690-acres of rolling landscape is the ideal setting for the multi-use recreational park designed to meet the needs of a growing community.

Indoor Pool
The Germantown Indoor
SwimCenter is located within the South Germantown Recreational
Park. Family recreational swim periods and lap swim periods
are available daily. The Germantown
Indoor Swim Center operates from 6:00am to 10:00pm, seven days a week.
Maryland Soccerplex
In October, 2000, M-NCPPC and the Maryland Soccer Foundation opened the Maryland SoccerPlex which includes 19 regulation sized, irrigated soccer fields, and a 3200 seat championship field. The public-private partnership has resulted in playing fields that are being recognized as some of the best in the country.
Discovery Sport Center
This Sports Center
is a state of the art mulit-sport indoor facility designed
to
compliment the Maryland SoccerPlex. The 66,000 square
foot complex encompasses eight basketball and/or volleyball
courts on a lined urethane surface from March to November.
Beginning in November, there are two NHL hockey rinks
complete with netting and a dasher board system and
roll out a layer of artificial turf for indoor soccer,
lacrosse, filed hockey, baseball, and rugby. The Center
also features a café, arcade, and a party/conference
room. The Discovery Sports Center has fully equipped
men's and women's locker rooms and family bathrooms to
compliment our indoor events as well as the Maryland
SoccerPlex's marquee stadium events.

Homepage Facilities include an 8 lane, 25 meter lap pool with two diving boards, a freeform shallow water leisure pool and two large water flumes with kiddy slide, tot pool, snack bar, bath house and lawn areas.

The Upcounty Regional Services Center is a full-service
center with something for everyone in the community,
including recreation
and parks offices, health and human service agencies,
a day care center, and regional offices of the Montgomery
County Public Schools. In order to promote tourism, the
Montgomery County Conference and Visitors Bureau is strategically
located in the Center, along with the Germantown Chamber
of Commerce.
The Fountain Hills Community Association
holds its monthly Board of Directors meeting at this
location on the first Thursday of each
month at 7:30pm.

location and offers a collection of approximately 180,000
volumes. 37 PCs
are
available for public use. Wireless Tech (Wi-Fi) is available
